| Dulce de Leche is a soft cream, very sweet, and very good for breakfast or tea time. It is made with milk and sugar, and it has a nice brown color. It is very popular among young people, but it is also the main ingredient in most of Argentinian pastries and cakes. At home, it is usually spread over bread, like Nutella, but it is also eaten with bananas and other fresh fruits for dessert. |

Every year LoveArgentina teams up with a different charity in order to raise money and help children in need. We are currently supporting a scholarship project in General Güemes:
FUNDACION SICILIA – SCHOLARSHIPS PROJECT:
- MISSION: to financially support young people in the city of General Güemes, Salta Province, so they can complete their secondary school studies;
- FACT: An average of only 48,5% of the young population in Argentina are able to complete secondary school; General Güemes has a very high unemployment rate; this means many kids leave school earlier to support their families.
- PROJECT: 20 scholarships, to give the opportunity of education to children who belong to families with a vulnerable economical status.
- BUDGET: The total amount needed to put this project into action is £7,150.

APARU's mission is to relieve people who are in need, provide advance education and preserve and protect the good health of people living in Argentina and expatriates of Argentina living in the United Kingdom by any charitable means which the trustees determine.
Past benefited charities:
- APRID was created more than 20 years ago in Mendoza by a group of parents of children suffering from Down syndrome. Today, it is a private education and rehabilitation centre, which receives and implements the latest advances in the field. Its aim is to educate children, youths and adults in a comprehensive manner, using new pedagogic, social, pre-occupational or occupational approaches in order to maximise their capabilities and allow the real social insertion of people with Down syndrome. The Association provides services in: early stimulation, nursery, initial level, primary school, bakery, sweets and conserves workshops, rehabilitation and musical, physical, plastic and artistic education.
- Casa MANU was founded in 2001 in the province of Buenos Aires and is home to children who live with HIV/AIDS and have been abandoned by their families. These children, all between 3 and 16 years of age, are sent here by the Department of Juvenile Justice and the infections department at Garrahan Hospital. The aim of this organisation is to improve these children's quality of life within the framework of a small home, where they are respected, loved and valued, regardless of their pathology.
